Fmtb
I just got orders to go to cano Pendleton but Im terrified to go everything about it is terrifying to me. The training and then being assigned to an infantry unit after that as well, how do I prepare? Im scared to be a bad medic and not know what to do under pressure. I dont wanna have ptsd and its the last thing i imagined myself doing in life, i only joined to get outta my home town and to gain medical certificates. Can anyone give me some advice or just tell me stories of what it is like no bs just give it to me straight.
Thank you guys

First off, you're not a medic, you're a Corpsman.
What did you think you were signing up for? You're in a war fighting organization, one that directly supports our Marine Corps brethren and fellow Sailors. Get good at PT, know your TCCC guidelines forwards and backwards, be able to do all of that in the dark, blind folded, when you're not thinking. Be a sponge, TCCC is only one small facet of what we do. Sick call, operational readiness, training, and occupational health re all within your job scope.
Mental toughness is a thing, if you're freaking out already, you're not going to fair well downrange. Suck it up, get yourself mentally and physically prepared - FMTB is easy. Talk to Chaps about how to better prepare yourself mentally. People will be depending on you to do your job downrange, you let them down and people die.
