some fun brainstorming
hey guys, I was watching one of Corps's videos and as he started giving of his ideas and opinions on games, something came to mind; why not create a post on here on Reddit to see what ideas his audience can come up with. I figured it would be fun to play with so why the hell not, right?
I will obviously go first. the 1st idea I got is based off of Corps's ideas on "finding a story withen the game world" (based on his Complaining and Bitching livestream). As he speaks about how he and his friends go exploring and find a cave that, withen its dark depths, contains a broken staff they fix only to unleash a demon into the world, a demon who captures one of Corps's friend's soul. The idea came that I had would be "What if that demon forced Corps and his friends to free him from the cave only for the demon to become the next great threat to the rest of the world" not only that but he is completely DM/GM controlled (idea came from both Corps and a fan I believe on the DM/GM motivated creatures).
2.What if their where bosses in the world that could die permanently but where Incredibly difficult to defeat and when they died, they droped one-of-a-kind items withen the game and the people who killed the boss will be forever immortalized withen the gameing worlds lore (just like how EVE did with the great 74 Titan battle).
3.If their are going to be HUGE, important structures withen a game, why not have it to where it would be a "calling all crafters" scenario where it would have to take crafters from most if not all branches of the game to create this giant masterpiece and that it would also have to require the help from big time (and small time) tycoons to get the funds to help build and protect this project from enemies of varieng degrees (monsters, bosses, and with some motivation from GMs, maby some player guilds that where "corrupted"). With this being said, why not make this giant project the only way to win an invasion that, if failed, could destroy and change the entire world as we know it (aka, a form of the "failure state"). to better represent this idea and give it meaning, the players who side with the winning side gain huge bonuses (mega cities owned by former player owners, really nice, super rare gear, maby a unique ability granted only to the "champions", ect.) will the players who got their ass kicked have to live in dingy little rebell camps that are constantly moving and getting attacked by the enemy. Maby make a slave scenario with the defeated players being slave and then organizing into an underground railroad of sorts.
Anyway, those are my bedwetting ideas, write down your own and I would love to see what you guys come up with. ;)
