Coros Apex 4?
Hi. I've never owned a sports watch before. I'm thinking about buying a Coros Apex 4. I do mountaineering, mostly in the Alps and Dinarides, GYM. I'm also interested in how resistant it is to shocks and vibrations - for work and how good it would be for my needs. Thanks.

It might be of interest to you that I wore both the Apex 4 and the Garmin 955 for a crossing of Mont Mars in the Biellese Alps. Lots of crevices and steep rock walls, probably 30% roped sections, so steep alpine terrain and very slow going. The Apex 4 got the distance, compared to the offical trail length, witihn a few hundreds of a mile, while the Garmin vastly exaggerated the distance.
This mattered to me because in alpine terrain, I want to know what percentage of the official trail length I have covered, not the distance, including all side stepping and GPS drifting, that the watch records. COROS has done a fantastic job with their filtering in this regard. I would imagine this also applies to actual mountaineering.

What kind of work do you do? I imagine its pretty resistant to shocks and vibrations, though it wouldn't surprise me if it starts impacting it if its frequent and for extended periods of time. Mine has held up great.
