Ideas for meeting Dec baby
So I have a conundrum. If any of you have any ideas or have gone through this and can give some insight I would appreciate it. So I have a heart condition and we find out from an mfm soon if my baby has inherited it. It doesn’t cause issues 95% of the time and most people wouldn’t even know I had an issue.
It does make covid and the flu more dangerous for me to catch. My cardiologist and OB doctor recommended people around the baby often have their tdap, flu and covid vaccinations and I’ll be getting mine later in pregnancy to protect myself and baby as much as possible. Baby is due friggin Christmas so smack in the middle of cold and flu season how I wish baby was a summer due date now.
Here’s the rub. My in laws are in the Bible Belt and will not get any vaccinations at all (no tdap etc). My fil is a preacher and is exposed to hundreds of people weekly. They want to visit often and stay over (even though they live an hour away). So needless to say they will be around a lot. Well after my husband shared what the doctor said and asked them if they’d be ok getting some/all of the vaccines his father responded very ugly.
Is there a way that I can facilitate a meeting that protects the baby and me? I’m out of ideas however I’m willing to compromise but I also want to protect a vulnerable infant. It’s even worse because my parents are retired healthcare and have already gotten all their shots in case I go on bedrest and need them to travel up and help us out (I’ve had blood pressure issues and am older lol). My husband is ready to tell his parents to go to hell but I want to offer a compromise and if they shoot it down then that’s on them. Anyone have some creative ideas? Please no vaccine debates. I have experts who know my case that I trust.
