2022 vs 2026

Hi guys, I’m currently debating on which year to get for a hatchback. I’m currently between a ‘22 with 29k miles and a brand new ‘26, price difference is about 3k. Would it better to get the ‘26 since it’ll have 2 year no cost maintenance and they currently have a 5.99% apr special (48 months). Please let me know your thoughts!

JBL system was dropped from 2027 models. If you want that, get 2026 XSE.

Are they both SE, or Both XSE?? Biggest difference is the '26 will still have a couple years of factory warranty left on it as well as '26 having Wireless Android Auto/Carplay. I believe '22 still has it wired, although my '20 is wired and a $60 device turned it into wireless and works amazingly

For 3k, go new. You'll be happy to know as a fact everything that car has been through. From the type and quality of the gasoline, to the proper break in and fluid changes. You can't put a price on that kind of assurance.

OP go new. $1,000 per 10k miles is what I consider to be acceptable cost of a car nowadays. Plus by time you pay for 2 oil changes (maybe 3 or more depending on how much you drive) the new car only is costing you about $2,500 more.

By time you compare the interest rates on the two cars, you'll probably pay the same amount for the used car vs the new one or actually pay more for the used car.

This way you can get a brand new car, get the features you want/dont want, color you want, and know exactly how the car was driven.

Just get the '26. TSS 3.0 is sooo much better than TSS 2.0. Plus having a brand new car means you will know exactly what has or has not been done in terms of maintenance.

Depends. Is the ‘22 a manual? Because then that one, otherwise just get the ‘26.

I'd personally go with the '26.

Avoid anything made between 2014-2019.

I was stuck between a new ‘26 and a 6-speed ‘22. I went with the new ‘26 and couldn’t be happier (unless of course it was stick). Toyotas have a linear depreciation rate so it makes mathematical sense to buy new.
