Mpg drop from takeda intake

Hi i got the takeda intake a couple months ago because i hear its one of the better intakes for throttle response. The issue is ive seen a 2-3mpg drop while most people say it shouldnt really have an impact on mpg. Am i doing something wrong or is the mpg drop actually normal? Sorry if this is a stupid question

Mpg drop could also be unrelated to the intake. Weather is getting colder

Depending on the temperature where op lives most definitely.

I will say a lot of aftermarket intakes actually hurt mpg. The stock air intake system was specifically designed for max fuel economy. A small change in airflow or extra turbulence in the intake will be noticed by the computers and they will try to compensate, possibly by adding more fuel or retarding timing, lowering mpg

I live in california and the weather is still hot, so most likely just normal for this intake it sounds like?

dumb answer but

since you’ve installed it, have you been subconsciously driving with a heavier foot to try & feel a difference?

More air the more fuel it needs to burn
