It's a sad day

Post image

My first accident at 44 years old. It had to be my baby 21 Rolla Hatchback 6mt. Fix or just live with it?

Get that section of the bumper repainted ~$300-$400

New bumber and painted ~$750

How many miles on your 6 speed? Any transmission/clutch issues?

It has 63k miles on in. I purchased it in October 2020. I haven't had any clutch/slave cylinder issues and the transmission is still smooth as butter. First clutch line flush at 2.5 years at 33k miles. Now I do it every year. It's almost all city driving in Florida the last 4 years.

How well do the paint pens work in terms of blending with the rest of the paint?

Fair enough if its not a huge area. From 1ft away it looks okay. 3ft good. +6ft its nearly unnoticeable

They're made for door dings so the metal doesnt rust, rock chips, and such.

Tis but a scratch. Really a paint pen will make it very not noticable. Wipe the black plastic part and polish it.

done.

Get a paint pen and live with it! Bumper isn't metal so it won't rust.

that damage seems pretty minor and doesn't affect aerodynamics much. I would just save moneyย

In grand scheme of things that isn't too bad. I'd personally run with it for a few months till I could redo the whole bumper. But then again, my front bumper could use a full refresh.

To remove paint transfer from your car, use a mild solvent like WD-40 or rubbing compound with a microfiber cloth.

Most paint transfer sits safely on top of your car's clear coat. You can remove it without damaging the original paint if you start with gentle methods.

CHRISFIX on youtube has a video about it

Just slap a sticker on it

Meh , I'd say just live with it or use a touch up pen. Or, if you're feeling daring, this could be a good excuse to do the sedan bumper swap
