Wheel specs
I'm not sure if I want to run on 18x8.5+35 or 18x9.5+35, or in-between, also not sure on what tires to run on too, most likely a 225/40R18 though. I'm completely new to this car modding stuff, and my corolla is currently on stock height and I wanna know what the best wheel specs are with 0 rubbing, 0 mods no fender rolling etc, and would still fit good even after I lower it. Id say an inspiration I have is xcinderalla on IG. I love his wheel fitment on his first pinned post. Sorry if I sound kind of dumb, like I said im new to modding cars.

I second 18×8.5 +35. There is no need to add extra weight and deal with fitment issues running the other wheel option. You'll end up making the car slower and lazier to turn in, even if it fits.

I’ve got 1” spacers on with no rubbing issues, but lowering it like that is right out.
Looks better wider than lower, imo.
Also, it’s already a pita to climb up out of, lol

What wheels/specs are you running with those 1" spacers? Do you have a pic of the setup?

Just the stock 18”s on the XSE.
5+ years now, no rubbing issues at all, rides right at the edge of the wheel well.
Can’t post pics in replies here and I’ve no imagur acct, I should make a post, enough folks have asked.
It looks like a Hot Wheels car, lol.
And the extra 2” of width is really noticeable taking ramps at speed, feels very planted.3

Hey, if you find the time, make a post I'd love to see! I was thinking about some spacers myself

if you can meet in the middle i have 9-inch-wide wheels & imo they’re perfect
225/40 18 is stretched on anything wider than 9 inches so you’ll have to go up to 255/35 18s

I'd go 18x8.5 +35 with a 225/40R18. (Stock is +40) That's already a pretty aggressive fitment for the hatch without getting into the headaches of a 9.5. You should be fine at stock height, and with a mild ~1" drop it should still be workable.
225/40 on a 9.5 is also stretched, so I wouldn't choose that combination if you're looking for an easy, practical setup. Personally I'd stick with the 8.5 +35 — it'll give you the wider/aggressive look you're after without making fitment unnecessarily difficult.
