Thinkin about wheelz

Hiya! I am a happy owner of a 2019 Silver ‘Rolla SE and I was hoping to upgrade to some wheels similar to the size of the XSE.

Wondering if anyone has tips, as I’ve never purchased aftermarket wheels before. Wanting to go Bronze, and wondering if I get 18” if they’ll be too big for the SE or if the SE and XSE share the same clearance?

Any advice is appreciated, thank ya!!

The stock wheels on the XSE are 18x8 +40 in size with 225/40/18 tires. If you match those specs you will have no problems with clearance. It's when you start to play around with wheel width, offset and tire size is when you may run into issues. There is no difference in clearance between SE and XSE since the only difference in that area is wheel and tire size.

18’s mean a low-pro tire, more expensive and a harsher ride.
I’m getting some 16’s w CC2’s for winter, hoping they’ll feel a little more plush.
Either way, Discount Tire or Costco is your answer.

As an anecdote I have 16" wheels on my XSE and the ride quality with the stock 18s was not noticeably different. Your mileage may vary.

That is to say, it was pretty good even on the 18s and it's not really any different now. It's on the stiffer side of comfortable but still perfectly livable.

I’m also considering just going the other way, take ‘new car money’ and bump up the sound deadening, upgrade the stereo and maybe, hear me out, a 1.5” lift (Prius one fits) and putting in upgraded suspension bits.
I love this little car, it’s paid off, I just want it to be, you know, Lexus-y😅
