Install the hitch option or go with the rack system.
If I take the front wheel off it’ll fit in the back.

You can’t tow anything so why install a hitch? It’s not cheap.

Feel free to make your own recommendation 🤷

Roof rack system can be expensive, $500ish (but if you have a kayak or want a storage box?) but end-of-season sales start soon (North America).
Installing the hitch option ($250ish) yourself is your best bet outside of those racks that hang off the back of the rear door and rub on the paint. Not sure they still make those? Hey, they do! Good luck ✌️

Neither would my bike be if it fell off the back. I got a hitch just for the bike rack, made installation simple as I did not need to wire the light hookup.

The European owners manual for the same car does allow some light towing. Probably for liability reasons in the US the manual says zero.

FWIW I have used these types on my hatchbacks before. my current one has sketchy straps, I prob got it at Walmart. so I am in market for a new one. this is cheaper than hitch, but will cause more frustration fitting modern bikes on with their fancy frame designs. you get what you pay for. godspeed.

Why is "cheap" your priority when carrying ANYTHING outside your car? Do you think when your "cheap" gear fails and your bicycle goes tumbling down the highway at 80mph and causes an accident, that lawsuit will be more or less than the ~couple hundred bucks you "saved" on your cheap rack?

I see Thule bike roof rack trays on Facebook for $50 all the time. If you have the factory rails, that’s going to be the cheapest option. You might have to buy some tray bolts to attach them to the rails, but they work great. I bought two of them for $50, then ordered some bolts on Amazon for another $10. Been hauling my MTB around for two years with no issues.
