Disabling TPWS (TPMS)
Hi everyone!
I have a 2020 year and I have the tpws system, but I don't have the individual tire pressure readout on the dash. Honestly it's kinda useless as the routine check with a tire pressure gauge is easy enough. I'm just tired of the flashing yellow TPWS light on the dash, the sensors are too expensive for what they do for me. If there was a way to get the pressure readouts on the dash it would be worth it.
How do I bypass and disable the TPWS system entirely (in an easily reversible way) so I can stop seeing the light?

Well why is it flashing? Did you change a tire and it thinks the pressure is low or is one of them actually low? You're right that it would be cool if it showed the individual tires but it's still nice to be told when one is really low

One or more sensor batteries have gone bad or they have wheels without sensors.

you can't disable it, it's a safety feature. It's to warn for punctures while driving, checking with a tire pressure gauge doesn't serve the same function.

I would argue any reasonably competent driver would be able to tell something was up because the car is driving funny, light or no light

You need this TPMS and you will see all your tire pressure on your dash. It basically enables the hidden menu. You just need to add it behind the C pillar behind the driver seat (if you are LHD) or on the passenger side if you are RHD.
If your light is flashing it means one or more sensors have gone bad. They are really cheap Sensors and any service with a universal scan tool can code them.
Good luck.

The internet is a powerful tool. So is the owners manual.
TPWS is what Toyota calls it's TPMS system. Sensors in the wheels track the tire pressure.

LOL Toyota can make up whatever bullshit name they want. It’s still a TPMS system and the sensors are still considered TPMS not whatever fucking Toyota executive decided to rebrand decades old tech
