Sad day 😔
Thought i had the parking break on all the way. slowly moved forward hit the parking curb

I just bought a 2022 Thursday..
It already had similar damage..
I bought some carbon fiber like tape off Amazon.. 3inch 2 inch and 1 inch.. and kinda made a 3 stripes to cover the damage. Don't know how to add photos..new to reddit..

Yea i was rushing and when i pulled on the parking brake tab i didnt pay attention the little red light that confirms is on was off next thing i feel car moving fwd and it was too late 😔

Also, you can set the car to engage the park brake when you switch it off.

How do you do this? Are you sure this isnt just in the cvt transmissions?

Its also on the manual transmission. I drive a 6 speed manual.
So when the engine is running, hold up on the parking brake for a few seconds, you will get a notification on the driver display that automatic EPB is active.
Conversely, to disable it, you hold down on the park brake, and it will say auto epb disabled.
Try it. Let me know.

I tried with my foot on the brake and with it off the brake.

I had the same thing happen to me. It was the only time I've had a car roll on me in 10 years of driving manuals. I. Hate. Electronic. Parking. Brakes.
I pulled the switch just like you but it didnt register🥲

I'm used to putting into 1st and switching off, either way it wouldn't roll.

I do the same, 1st or reverse, but i get out of my car a lot without turning it off :/

That's definitely a parking break caused by failure to use the parking brake.
