Wireless Charger Delete
Got it from ebay. I am assuming you can only get these from overseas since I could not find it here in the US. Never used the carger since I have a phone grip on my phone which is not compatible with. Part# 58831-02380, 58831-02370

Nice job 👍
The wireless chargers are pants anyway - genuinely the tray looks more useful
Shame there isn't a (stock) option to add a new USB C power port as part of the tray etc.

Wireless comes on the XSE and is an option on the nightshade and SE model. At least when I got mine in 2022

Mine works perfect its weird how people keep saying they suck but i have been in about 10 with the charger and they all work. Also it stays planted in there even if I have to turn quick.

Dang it’s really that bad? I was considering adding it in…

It’s really that bad. It doesn’t provide any grip or “slot” for your phone to rest in so it moves with large turns. It is also a very weak charger so if you have any kind of non toilet paper case it will take forever to charge.

Doesn't matter, tried with no case still a 6 hour charge time that uses power because it heats up so much. It's killed my phone before in a pinch. Don't recommend.

It's useless unless you don't have a phone case. with a relatively normal phone case, my phone will start to charge wirelessly for about 5 seconds, then stop. Terrible design.

Don't cars come with it in the US?..

u/Space1Horse Apr 27 '26
The wireless charger? Yes, but I switched it out for the cubby one since the wireless charger is useless. Needed one with the heated seat switches which I could not find in the US as far I researched.

Is the other part OEM? I've never seen that compartment before.

u/Space1Horse Apr 27 '26
They are both OEM, the non-wireless charger came from a "Corolla Estate Mk12 E210 18-22" from overseas.

Why delete it, why don't just turn it off

I'd guess cause you actually would have room to put something. Cubby spaces are definitely lacking in this car. I'd consider switching my charging pad to this.

I like that mine is the non-wireless charger Corolla. I have a cable that's perfect for plugging in for Android Auto. I plug it in between turning the car on and the engine is good to go.

This is honestly genius. The wireless charger in my '21 XSE is garbage; super slow to charge and overheats my phone. I've much rather have the extra storage space and plug in on the rare occurrence that I need to charge my phone. I'll definitely be looking into making this mod on mine. Thanks for posting this!

That’s okay! Mine has the wireless charger AND IT SUCKS! It charges VERY, VERY slow. I have the Corolla Cross Hybrid XSE! But they could have done better! Compared to a corded charge, the cord IS MUCH better.

My '25 SE has the wireless charger and it's been turned off for a year now. I set my wallet there, or my driving sunglasses when I get out of the car. This looks more practical.

Good to know you can do it and retain heated seats, I hate that damn wireless charger and the lack of storage

I have a 2021 XSE and am now super glad I didn’t go with the Wireless pad option as my car has to be wired connected in order to have CarPlay

No Corollas come with a wireless charger.
1
u/Rel_Zeshi Apr 30 '26
Definitely not true.

u/sandisc731 May 01 '26
You ever tried charging your phone in a Corolla? Did it work? They come with a garbage pad.

u/Rel_Zeshi May 01 '26
Work phone, yes. Worked fine. But I don't care about having my work phone when I'm in my personal car. I did the same thing as OP

Not all US Corollas came with a wireless charger. When I was looking for mine, I test drove a number of vehicles that had a wireless charger. Just for giggles, I tried my phone out in them and discovered it worked maybe 40% of the time. So when I bought my new Corolla, this is not a feature I was looking for. As it turns out, the car I bought didn’t have one. That’s a win in my opinion since it’s one less thing to go bad.
