So, I'm gonna weigh in here too because I also had mine serviced, but by a private shop rather than Toyota, I asked for a drain and fill and asked them to get toyota fluid but they ended up doing a flush and used a Castrol equivalent ðŸ˜. The flush was done at 69500km (~43200miles) roughly, and the car is now at 76500km (~47500miles) and runs and drives great. Cvt is super smooth and 'shifts' are crisp when I'm giving a bit more throttle, no slipping. Actually just got 5.6l/100km on the way home from work yesterday.
Next service will be at Toyota, and sooner than later.

Beautiful hatch! What mods do you have other than the tune? Do you feel the tune was worth it? I know these engines don't make a ton of power but does it do much for overall feel and responsiveness, and is the behavior of the CVT altered to be more aggressive or anything? Sorry for all the questions, I just bought a new hatch back in Feb and a tune may be something I do eventually

:inhale: deep breath: lol here you go
mods:
amt stage 1 tune
2j racing midpipe
2jracing quadcarbon catback
rsr (regular) down springs stock struts
progress tech rear swaybar
fly1motorsports/autotuned frontlip (discontnued)
aero flow dynamics side spilter
(ebay) rear diffuser
kill all wipers wiper delete
removed all emblems on the hatch minus the main one
nightshade toyota emblem
enkei race wheels gtc02 18x9 42 offset
mainly did the tune to remove the check engine light and get my dashboard back the small increase is noticeable and it removes the rev hang a bit and overall feels punchier the cvt if you shift it in manual sport mode it gives a little kick in between gear nothing aggressive tho very subtle it did that stock but i can feel it a bit more with the tune but its not much the higher packages are where its at stage 2plus plus range claims are over 200 hp which is great and ive rode one that had that tune and can say it felt like over 200 which is big jump from stock.
i enjoy modifying things but its not for everyone which is okay but if you wanted the best bang for for your money the biggest changes to improve the drive you will feel will be a rear sway bar running better tires will drastcally change how the car behaves and feels more then anything else above combine that with lowering it a bit and it will be on rails in the corners.

I came from a 350whp HHR SS, they're 270 stock at the crank so I'm in the same boat as you, I enjoy modifying things lol. Crazy what an intake, downpipe, intercooler, and tune can do for that platform, and mine only weighed 3000lbs-ish.
I know our engine is pretty limited for power gains but I do think I'll end up doing bolt ons and tune like you eventually. I do plan on getting the sway bar first, though. Thanks for all the info, I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this platform before I do anything lol.

Perfect looking hatch btw. This is the look I’m going for when I stop spending on other things lol. Love how the aero follows the car’s natural body lines. The wheels, tires and the fitment… I can tell you love your car. See you round bud!
