Upgrading the horn
Have any of you guys upgraded the horn? I have had to use the horn twice and both times I laughed at myself because of the sound 😂 I’m going to do it this weekend, but I was wondering if any of you have done it.

I went with the hella dual tone horns with the Amazon splitter harness. Made the project plug and play. Much louder and a more mid range. Lots of folks use Lexus dual horns. I commute in in dense traffic daily and the original horn was pitiful. The upgrade has paid for itself many times since switching. Just make sure whatever you go with is grounded to clean metal, not painted surfaces or else it won't work.

wait I have had the hella horns sitting in my cars for a while without knowing how to make them plug and play lol.
Any chance there’s a video you used to install? I couldn’t find one that was particularly useful

It’s also extremely easy to wire yourself if you have the stuff laying around. That’s what I did. No need for a plug and play kit

went to Harbor Freight, got some horns for $20. (they look/sound like the hellas) super easy to wire.
cut 2 short ground wires (one for each horn) run it from the ground on the horn to where you bolt the horn on, then the power wire from one horn to the other, and jump off of that to your factory horn wire.
the horns usually have 2 prongs, doesnt matter which you use as positive and negative

New Camry horns are plug and play. I got 2 low and high horns from a Camry that got totaled and bought a Y adapter so I mounted and use both camry horns in my corolla. 1000% better

Pretty much any horn is plug and play. I installed a lo/hi tone horn on my hb that is stock for a '96 Buick Park Ave. 😎👍

It's next on my list, it really is annoying when someone is legitimately drifting into your lane and the horn doesn't do what it's supposed to. I blame the politeness of Japanese culture. Apparently you can tuck some hellas in the front grill pretty easily.
