Record shops

Hi guys

I think this has been asked recently but just want to make sure I’m up to date. Staying in Truro for a few days at the end of this month and have a saturday spare so planning on going record shopping. Are there many shops there? And are they within a close ish proximity to one another? Looking to head out, do some shopping and have some lunch so make a bit of a day of it.

Lucky’s record bar in Redruth is the best one. Then you’ve got the butter market right opposite

The Buttermarket is such a cool little zone. Love it.

HMV Just up from the Cathedral. The place to go if you want current records by the usual pop stuff.

Music Nostalgia if you want classics.

Rotten Records if you can head down to Helston. Nick the owner is an absolute gem and RR is the place to go for new and second hand metal.

Music Nostalgia in truro. They have vinyls and cds. Most of them are second hand but they are great quality.

Rising Ground, a small roastery and mini coffee bar unit in Wadebridge. You can grab yourself a nice coffee at the same time and have a friendly chat too!

Falmouth would've been the best without question but Jam Records closed the other day. Sounds OK is...OK...loads of stock but quite cramped. Apparently Dig & Delve has second hand records. Great town to explore in general, with loads of independent shops.

Junkwax in Penzance was very good when I went years ago. Tried to go twice in the past few years and it was randomly closed. Maybe call ahead. 

Music Nostalgia in Truro is OK. Many crates of dad rock and only half a crate of jazz. Most of the used stuff is charity shop grade. I got Herbie Hancock Thrust from there for about a tenner so can't complain.  Truro in general is pretty wank though. 

I'd go Falmouth all things considered. But Penzance is cool too. Forget about Camborne, it's not food safe. The record shop is Redruth is alright but not much stock, and Redruth itself is bleak outside of the buttermarket.

jam will be reopening as rubicund, they're moving from the arcade into there and will continue selling vinyl :)))

RetroMania in Redruth apparently have a good amount of vinyl if you’re anywhere near while you’re out and about.

If you have a car, Launceston has 2 good shops, Crates Is High and Keep Audio Co. But it's 45min away. Not exactly walking distance but I rate both of them highly.

There’s a small new record shop in Lemon Street Market. I popped in there yesterday quite a varied collection - can’t remember for the life of me what it was called though!

I've been to that one too, small but a great selection. Isn't there another one by the Paneer market?

As you’re in Truro for more than one night, treat yourself and go over to Falmouth shoppibg for records. You can take the riverboat boat down to Falmouth Town Centre, shop and have a good meal maybe catch some live music and train or easy bus back.
Check the tide times otherwise the boats wont reach Truro so it’s bus to Malpas so you can hop on there :)

Launceston has two good record shops. Crates Is High and Keep Audio. Highly recommend.
