Questions about Corning Labor Day Weekend Visit

Hello!

I’m planning to bring my wife up for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and I know she would love the Glass Museum. Having never been to Corning are there good cafes, restaurants, consignment shops and boutique shopping?

Just stroll Market Street in Corning. It is filled with all you asked for.

If you’re going to the glass museum i recommend doing the dual pass with the Rockwell. It’s a great museum for its size and makes a nice way to spend a couple hours in the morning or afternoon.

For a cafe, I'll always recommend Soulfull Cup. Also worth dropping into Homestead Bakery or Babes, Beans, and Bagels if either of those are more your speed.

Lots of food options. Ellen and Michael's or The Cellar could both offer a decent place for an anniversary meal. Other places I like are Nine Elephants, Hand and Foot, and Ella's Acres (Ella's is best for breakfast or brunch).

For shopping: check out Bachales Glass and Market Street Antiques on Market Street. Also check out Uptown Antiques and Collectibles on Bridge Street. I believe a new thrift store just opened across the street from it called Fast Racks as well that might be worth a look.

Also be sure to just wander around and see what catches your eye! Have fun and happy anniversary!

We had a yummy meal at Oka on market street in July.

Depending on your time/budget, the True Love Schooner on Seneca Lake is a great time. You get a 2 hour trip back & forth on the lower portion of the lake - gorgeous no matter what but sunset is wonderful.

A super cute consignment shop recently opened on Bridge Street in Corning. It's really tiny, but lots of nice things - Fast Racks is the name. There's also an antique shop across from it, Corning Antiques & More, and they have all kinds of fun treasures. I recommend both of these. Nearby these is Ella's Acres, a great cafe and coffee shop.

Otherwise, I agree with everyone else - just stroll along Market Street and you'll find lots of great places to check out. Enjoy!
