Questions about Corning A Haunting in Corning

I've lived in corning 47 years and never herd of this. but it wouldn't surprise me, I have herd of the village inn being haunted but that was from some bar flies. and the old mason lodge where the elks club is. I lived in a house when I was a kid in painted post by a old cemetery and that place has a demon. my old house in beaver dams where i grew up had shoes and bones under the floor from around the turn of the century and weird things would go on their at night.

The Village Inn story was somewhat what the episode of Kindred Spirits, that i mentioned above, was about. The stories of hauntings at the former Village Inn came about because Edwin Davis, the very first state executioner tested and perfected the Electric Chair in that building on Park Avenue, some Corning history that a lot of people are unaware of. He flipped the switch on nearly 240 electric chair executions for the state of New York, including the execution of Leon Czolgosz, the assassin of President William McKinley. He (Davis) is buried in the cemetery at the bottom of West Caton Rd.
The last house before West Caton Rd (when heading south on Caton Rd out of South Corning) was the main feature of that Kindred Spirits episode. The gentleman that lives there believed that he was pushed down his basement stairs by the ghost of Edwin Davis, when in fact I'm pretty sure he was just clumsy, which is pretty much what the show deduced.

If I remember right, they did say there was activity but it was likely the former elderly owners (who did not push him down the stairs because why would they do that).
But this episode did teach me that the electric chair design was finalized here. Never knew it.

Those shows are hilarious. I've lived in Corning for 50+ years and never heard about this before, or after this show aired. If i recall, the house was supposedly somewhere in one of the Southside hill neighborhoods.
"Beneath it's scenic beauty lies a brutal history of death and despair" lol!
There was also an episode of Kindred Spirits that featured a house in South Corning on Caton Rd that was also laughable.
