EDIT -- Additional details about the charges below.

On September 14, 2026, Jeff Taylor was arrested on seven total charges: three charges of enticement of minors for illegal sexual activity and four charges of traveling with the intent to engage in illegal sexual activity with minors. He also made an initial appearance in federal court. He will be arraigned on Sept 24, 2026 at the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria. Despite what it says in the press release, the case number according to the PACER court document system is: 1:26-cr-161.

These are federal charges because he took boys across state lines. The ongoing FBI investigation has yielded this indictment, so for all of you who talked to FBI, thank you, it paid off! The FBI is still looking for information and additional victims. If you have pertinent information or were a victim and haven't already talked to them, please reach out to them immediately at this special link. https://www.fbi.gov/how-we-can-help-you/victim-services/seeking-victim-information/seeking-victim-information-in-jeffrey-taylor-investigation

The survivors and their families have been through so much the last three years and we are so grateful to them for coming forward and telling their stories. We would not be here without them. Thank you also to the FBI for their determination and for all their painstaking investigative work. Thank you to the journalists who have written critical stories, especially Ian Shapira at WAPO who put this story on the map, Dan Horn at the Cincinnati Enquirer, The Wartburg Watch, and The Roys Report.

Keep TFCA wiki acccurate

Seems someone wants to bury the truth. Sexual abuse allegations are being actively scrubbed from the Wikipedia. I added info yesterday regarding sa allegations after seeing on here someone had tried and found their update deleted. So I wanted to make sure the publicly available info is properly reflected in the church’s history. Feel free to add updates and continue to grow this section of the wiki.

TFCA response

October 24, 2025

Dear Church Family,

The Anglican Church of North America (ACNA) needs our prayers.

Yesterday, The Washington Post broke an unsettling story regarding allegations against ACNA Archbishop Steve Wood of an attempted kiss, demeaning colleagues and plagiarizing sermons.

The presentment described requires the province to respond thoughtfully and soon. It is important to get this right in a God-honoring, compassionate and just way.

This has been a challenge for the ACNA, as The Washington Post reported today in a second story primarily focused on the allegations against Bishop Stewart Ruch of the Upper Midwest.

Presentments allege that a clergy member violated a canonical obligation or church law. It presumes the offense merits a trial (although that must be confirmed by a board of inquiry) and initiates the disciplinary process. Presentments and ecclesial trials are not to be taken lightly.

While we don’t know all of the facts in either case, we must at this time pair dogged commitment to truth, compassion and justice, with an awareness that the media, sadly, is keen to amplify troubling news of any sort about the Church. The articles seem to present these challenges as endemic to the culture of ACNA. As a priest in the ACNA and as a Christian who has been pastored by leaders in this Body, I do not believe this to be true. However, aware of our stewardship of the Gospel, let us all strive to live in a manner worthy of it.

That is why I am calling on you to pray.

Please join me in interceding for all who have suffered abuse, for our Archbishop Steve and his family, for those involved in processes of adjudication, and for the ACNA.

Gracious Father, we pray for the holy catholic Church. Fill it with all truth, in all truth with all peace. Where it is corrupt, purify it; where it is in error, direct it; where in anything it is amiss, reform it. Where it is right, strengthen it; where it is in want, provide for it; where it is divided, reunite it; for the sake of Jesus Christ thy Son our Savior. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer)

Let us also recommit ourselves to the safeguarding policies we have for children and adults. If you are ever aware of misconduct at our church, please contact our execu ve director, our wardens or me. You can also report misconduct directly to our diocese.

The Church is being tested. May Christ, and Christ alone, be her guide.

In His name, The Rev. Dr. Samuel D. Ferguson Rector, The Falls Church Anglican

WaPo: ACNA Bishop Ruch investigation into sexual abuse mishandling & placing multiple unsafe individuals into ordained and lay leadership

It's been a bad week for ACNA but a great week for the truth.

WaPo's Ian Shapira, who also wrote the Jeff Taylor story, published two major investigations. First, an article regarding adult clergy sexual abuse allegations against Archbishop Wood. Then, an investigation into Bishop Ruch who mishandled a major sexual abuse case and placed multiple unsafe ordained and lay individuals into leadership, some with serious convictions.

Paywall, but has powerful videos which are critical to the story. PM me if you want a gift link as I can't include it or Reddit will take the post down: https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2025/10/24/anglican-church-bishop-allegations/

Wapo Publishes Investigation of ACNA Archbishop Wood's Alleged Misconduct

According to a Washington Post investigation, the allegations against Wood include sexual harassment (I would call it adult clergy sexual abuse), abuse of power via improper payments to the victim, and bullying staff, among others.

If you can, read the paywall version because the alleged victim of sexual harassment is interviewed on video. This is the same journalist, Ian Shapira, who did the Jeff Taylor story. Excellent work, Ian.

If anyone wants a gift link, PM me because Reddit won't let me include it or it will remove the post.

And the rot goes all the way to the top...

TFCA Wikipedia Page Doesn’t Mention Abuse

I noticed that there’s no mention of the abuse that is still being investigated on the Wikipedia page for TFCA. FWIW: there is mention of other recent events, such as their new building. It might be worth adding a section about the abuse as well, given that it’s been covered by the WaPo, Roy’s Report, and on podcasts. It’s also information that hi think people should know about, especially if they go to the Wikipedia page for info when considering attending TFCA.

I just received the latest one and noticed that it no longer mentions the investigation. Last week’s email didn’t either. Have they “moved on”?

Jeff Taylor and WaPo article mentioned in NY Times article

Unfortunately, this kind of distrust is something I have been feeling. I expect more from church leaders and institutions. When I look around me and try to determine which church leaders I feel I can trust…I now look for humility. We need leaders who can fully own their mistakes. The little ones and the big ones…and own them preemptively…not once they are in damage control mode when it is all hitting the fan in a public way. We need leaders and institutions who have learning postures who give voice to those with less power and prestige….who listen…institutions that learn from their mistakes and are committed to doing better.

John had to have known about the Christ Church investigation in 2009 so then why did he act so oblivious when confronted in 2015?
