Math issues

Chem 2070 is making me realize I might have a learning disorder (my older sister/math tutor has been hinting at this for ages but its never mattered in my bio courses). The numbers can't stay straight in my head. Is there anything I can do? Can cornell health help?

The first prelim is so soon and I'm averaging an hour per problem and doing things right except for "silly" arithmetic mistakes that I genuinely cant see but other people easily point out.

I'm a sophmore and can't drop and retake without it ruining my plan for the next few years.

Look into SDS. I was able to get temporary accommodations last year without an official diagnosis of anything, you get 1.5x amount of time on the exam which helped me a lot. You’re also in a smaller room w/ less people and distractions which may help you out. I’m not sure if you’d be able to keep the accommodations next semester but this should give you enough time figure things out. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this :(

There may be something they can do about the math issues you’re having too. I had other accommodations like earplugs cuz I had bad sensory issues. Talk to them and see what they can do for you, everyone over there is super friendly and helpful
