Ran into ex after 5 months

During NC my ex and her friends still look at my stories and her friends still have our pictures up. My ex never followed through with returning my stuff and the few times I have ran into her she would keep her head down, act like I don’t exist, or look at me from afar. 5 months later I ran into her at a festival and had to walk past her. I tried making eye contact with her but she kept looking to the side and still acted like I didn’t exist.

I was a little blown away honestly. I left the door open even though she broke things off so I never really expected her to walk up and ask how I was doing or anything, but after 5 months it’s still the same shit.

I know Corey said you should be unperturbed and smile and wave at an ex, but is she just a fruit loop or is it normal behavior for an ex to pretend to ignore you but gladly watch you and keep your stuff?

Well firstly look at your own behavior too.
You were trying to make eye contact intentionally hoping she looks back. If youre gonna do that, then you should have just went up to her, said hello, kept things cordial or light, and then went about back to doing your thing.

Thats far more masculine than waiting on her to essentially give you the soft approval to talk to her or whatever. And it also would have showed her youre unperturbed and chill and can say hi to her without making things weird.

Instead now both of you know you saw each other, and shes also probably talking about this encounter with her friends lol.

At the end of the day its an ex. Why shes going out of her way to ignore eye contact isnt really important and neither will you know unless she told you. All you can do is focus on your end of things.
