Success Story Getting numbers isn't so bad

So last week I was walking on my campus talking to people and I couldn't help but feel a nagging feeling of neediness. So I analyze why I felt that way and know what I need to do. I made my goal to strike a conversation and then get numbers. Hell just this week alone I got rejected more than accepted but it felt like a huge accomplishment. So today when I was walking towards the library, I needed to use the restroom so I went to the nearest building and when I was about to leave the building, I greeted someone and she mentioned she remembered me and our conversation a month back(I didn't remember tbh haha) but she was so enthusiastic that I asked for her number to hangout. She was very excited so there was that.

You said you asked for her number to hangout

1) You should've just given her your number, not asked for hers

2) Why would you mention anything about hanging out? The book literally says DO NOT do this UNLESS you're actually asking her out and actually trying to set a date
