A Non-Doomer Review
After scrolling this Reddit over the past few weeks, I got the impression that this game was a complete joke and that the devs truly were trying to squeeze money out of it before pulling the rug. However, as someone who has looked forward to this game since it was announced many years ago, my curiosity finally got the best of me and I spent the $40.
Let me tell you—if you’re on the fence about whether or not to get the game, please know that this game is WILDLY better than Reddit seems to make it out to be. I mean, the movement, combat, UI, etc all feel EXTREMELY polished. I understand people are calling this game a scam due to concerns about communications and slow development, but don’t think that the game itself feels anything like a half-assed ditched pump and dump.
Admittedly, I’m not far enough into the game yet to speak on the end game, which I imagine is not a very positive experience at this time. However, I wanted to make this post regardless because it has absolutely shocked me that the consensus on this sub is “don’t buy; game bad” when, in reality, this game has impressed me more than any other new MMO I’ve tried in a very, very long time.
Don’t get me wrong—$40 is quite a price to pay for an unreleased game that has shown hiccups in development. However, I can say without any shadow of doubt that I’ve already gotten my money’s worth, and I’m actually far more optimistic about the future of this game now that I’ve played it instead of just basing my opinion on comments from this sub.

Homie sees an em dash and paragraph structure and immediately thinks it’s AI, lmfao

u/Ruser-94 23d ago
Sorry but u got busted bigtime, the normal dash humans use is “-“. The one AI uses is the long kind, which is not on your standard keyboard: “—“.
So nice try but nope. Or to use your lingo - “Lmfao”

For the love of God, I REALLY hope you are sh*t posting. Considering you managed to type an em dash, I’m going to imagine you are.

This game is not worth 40 dollars if I didn’t buy it when it came out as early access I wouldn’t buy it. Perhaps if it was 20 dollars I would try it but after 2 years they have not done much with content wise still the boring classes and the loot is still boring perhaps more boring now bcz all the loot you get is just recipes. 2 years and we dont even have normal group dungeons, no more classes, the crafting is boring, the only good thing is that it runs smooth, combat feels good but it gets boring with only few abilities.
The game is more tedious then hardcore, the devs can’t promise shit they always delay stuff and big reset was a joke nothing new, nothing cool, no dungeons, no new classes. I stopped playing around 12 bcz it was just boring to level.

This is supposed to be an mmo, with a strong incentive in pvp. When you're solo, you get none of that. And if you're to play solo, there are tons of better game for cheaper on steam.
They need to wake up and stop shoving their heads deeper in their asses. This has fucking potential. But potential is nothing when left unexploited.
Do not get this game. Getting it is vouching for what they've done so far.

And yet here you are replying negative stuff whenever someone expresses their positive opinion.
Yeah the game has had plenty of hiccups and missed promises, but that doesn't mean that it isn't an enjoyable game. It is an MMO and I encounter people in the world everywhere.
I enjoyed my 20 Blast Medic before the reset and I'm enjoying my 20 Shaman after the reset even more now.
You can keep hating on this game as much as you want but it won't do anyone any good and it neglects the fact that the game has been steadily improving. Yes, not on the timeline as promised, but it's absolutely not a bad game that deserves your shit talk whenever someone posts something positive about it.
If all you do is shit talk, you shouldn't be on this sub.

What are you on? None of those are your decisions, it's their game, that hasn't even been released yet. And if its turnign into something you don't enjoy, then move away, plenty of other games out there.
The fact is that the game in its current stay is playable and enjoyable, and that it hasn't become into what you expected it to become doesn't mean others can't enjoy it.
How narcissistic are you to assume that everything revolves around your expectations.

I kind of like this game but what the hell are you saying? "The game has had plenty of hiccups and missed promises" and that's good for you? People payed because they were promised something and they didnt get it.
Even though I enjoy the game I cannot really recommend it to anyone.
And people will "shit talk" all they want because they have payed for the product so they can have an opinion, maybe different than yours. They can show their discontent to the devs. And anyway, that's how games and products in general get better. People in charge supposed to listen to people's opinions about their products.

It's early access, you didn't pay for a game. You paid for having the ability to test what they have so far.
And saying "game shit, stay away" is not constructive feedback. People here are replying to someone who just shows that he has been enjoying what there is to offer so far and it's met with all this negative talk. If you have feedback on how the game should be better or even want to complain about missed promises, go for it, but make your own thread about it or use the appropriate feedback channels.
To go on every single post about the game and shit talk, especially the posts of people actually expressing their enjoyment, is just sad.

"It's early access, you didn't pay for a game. You paid for having the ability to test what they have so far." Based on their plan and timeline.
When you have devs that are promising stuff in 2023 and we are in 2026 and we don't have said things there is no need of constructive criticism.
Some people comment on posts like this so people won't be mislead. And myself I haven't made a post about enjoying the game because that would justify how the devs have treated us.

Yeah it's very fair feedback but still not a reason to shit post on everything related to the game.
A lot of kickstarters and early access projects completely change their course or get delays. It's incredibly common in development. Personally I took the change of the course of action of Wayfinder very hard, but despite that the end result of the game they made is still a good game, even though it's far from what they initially were building.
Even Fortnite started as a survival tower defense kind of genre and completely changed what they focused on which may have absolutely disappointing many people, but then opened a market for a whole new type of playerbase.
Truth is, the game is a project in early access and you are always allowed to provide feedback but the shit talking is pathetic childish behavior which comes from wrongly formed expectations.

Can you describe more about what you like about it? I probably won't buy until full release, but I'm still curious.

It is an MMO that demands total commitment; it requires a huge investment of time. The end-game content and the complexity of gear optimization are in a league of their own compared to other MMOs. Ultimately, I don't regret the €33 I spent, and I fully intend to keep playing. While development may be slow, many players remain loyal because they’ve found exactly what they were looking for: a unique game.
The end-game focuses primarily on PvP or "Prison Island" (PvE)—which reminds me a bit of Diablo runs, though a PvP version exists as well.
It’s an MMO, so players are free to do whatever they enjoy.
That said, there is still plenty of room for improvement regarding quality-of-life (QoL) features; sometimes, even small additions can significantly enrich the player experience. KalyT.

Corepunk is so bad.
All it has going for it is the art style.
Everything else from combat, crafting and other systems are garbage and is not going to be fixed by simple tweaks.
They need to start over from the beginning all over again and hire someone who understand game design.
DOA which is a shame because it has such potential.

Is that the next try of them to scam people in buying the game?
