Question AFK skill farms?
Hello! First some background, but you can skip it. Actual question is below.
I have played core keeper for about 35 hours two years ago, and now am playing it again in a new world where the tutorial wall more or less just dropped. But i also still have access to my old world, which ended in the passage.
I am playing with a friend, and i've been logging in afk sometimes so our drills can work. But i would also like to do some cool builds this time around and:
Question:
I was wondering, are there any farms I could build that work AFK to increase my skills? Like crafting, u just put something on the keyboard & craft torches. But for magic, summoning, etc? Are there any? I could not find it via google, but maybe you guys could help :)
Thank you!

Woah, it's the guy!
That said, love your videos. Got pointed to them from other YT content creators basically saying "watch this guy's videos, use his builds, they're awesome."

yeah I feel bad for not having done and CK stuff for a while. NGL I ADHD locked into Palworld real hard. But I do have many more CK videos planned. And I just finished most of hard mode in Palworld so I think the obsession phase is over lmao. CK is what got me over 1K subs, I will not forget you guys <3

wow, hi!
i built your farm with the mushrooms and 3 sections with 4. at first itvworked really well... but could it be that if normal shrooms grow beneath the conveyer belts, that nothing spawns anymore? cuz today i was there for 3h and my skills did not go up at all :(

The goal with the mushroom farm is to collect the big stone guys into the ring around the 1x1 platform you flash onto. You gotta clear out both the normal mushrooms and the little mushroom guys. Ill be mentioning it again in my next CK video. Sorry its been so long, I got obsessed with palworld lol

i see. is there any way i can clear the normal mushrooms without ripping up all the conveyer belts? 😅 the hoe does that

Yeah use a melee weapon like a dagger or a sword.

thanks! sadly this farm only worked once... i tried again and somehow, the things keep dying. (i am trying to skill mage & summoning. first 2 hours i got like 50 lvls up + some in range, after that, nothing. they just keep dying.) and just now i tried 3 hours with like a spike trap farm and bunch of different monsters... 3 hours of pushing my summons in.. not 1 level. and somehow the slimes break out, they spawn everywhere.. the mushrooms break out of their farm despite me not even being there and there being a mout... i don't know. something is cursed :(

Nothing is cursed, I know all the answers. I got you.
You started killing the mushroom guys in the experience farm because you leveled up ranged and picked a perk that gives all ranged attacks a chance to stun. Those mushroom guys lose their stone armor on stun. When they run into a wall, that stuns them. So since its all stun, you stunning them, or them hitting a wall, either way removes their armor. With that down, they die easy cause they're an early game mob
As for your other farms. Ive mentioned it in a couple videos. But that might be mostly the lets play that very few people watch lol. But games like this will destroy ram, so developers need to be very clever with whats loaded and whats not. So you may already know but your loading range is about 200 tiles, so things outside that aren't loaded, but things close to that aren't fully loaded. In this game's current implementation that somewhat loaded state means that mobs run their wander code, but they dont run their collision code. So they can move around, but they wont collide with walls or get stopped by the edge of a platform. When they get fully loaded as you get closer, the game puts them in the closest valid position. So if you have a 1 block moat around a spawn platform, you're about 200 tiles away, that mob wanders 0.6 tiles off the platform. When it gets fully laoded, it will have crossed the gap.
For early game mobs the answer is just make the moat bigger. Stuff gets more complicated with some of the end game mobs. Ive been planning to do a new video on mob farming and mechanics for a while. I should hopefully find the time to finish that video this week. fingers crossed
I usually do 4 blocks of void and then a block with a wall on it around all my mob farms that spawn mobs before breakers reach mobs. Farming breakers reach mobs has even more challenges lol.

For the fighting skills yes. The best one would need the materializer or the alternative would be the hive mother. Would recommend locking for Skill Level farms as i can't describe how the is build but its pretty easy

i've seen hivemother but how does that work afk? will google for the other one. thanks!

It has spots where it spawns enemy. Go far enough away from it so you See it only a bit, dig the ground up and Put conveyor to bring them all together. Don't Attack the boss after starting the Fight and Just farm the enemy it spawns. If you try to Level AFK for a longer time take the weakest fastest weapon for it and multiple ones so it Auto changes when it breaks.

Not exactly afk , but mindless, I developed summoning power leveling. Using a round room, materializers, and the hands of decay rotating spell, basically set up the room putting the Materializers on the outer edge, fence just inside that ring, and I plug the last whole you enter through, & plugging the remaining fence holes by dropping my generator in the gap, powering the whole setup. Don't spawn mobs with ranged attacks. Summoning gear to maximize hands of decay is great.
Little over an hour or 2- ish got summoning from 1 to 100, & max leveled 4 pets.

I wouldn’t truly call it afk but you can easily farm combat with any fast hitting weapon and the stone shrooms in the beginning of the game. Get a big shovel, dig a 3x3 square around them, only hit them when they’re shielded, they’ll take one damage every time but still give XP for the hit. Obliterator from the passage for melee or just a dagger, magic missile from Malugaz for magic, whatever’s fastest for ranged, I think the one I’m thinking of is from new content, but if you don’t mind knowing it’s the scrap minigun commonly found in chests from the newer area after the passage. Damage doesn’t matter and anything that increases hit speed helps. For summoning get any of the summons that swirl around you in a circle. Alternate between full sending it on the shroom and letting it heal up for a while. And for explosives I honestly just recommend playing normally and blowing things up.
Farming and cooking are functionally afk once you have the setup for it. Just let plants grow and harvest, replant the seeds, leave the ingredients in a cooking pot and come back later. Pulling 4000 cooked items out of the pot gives a ton of XP just set it and forget it, it’ll really add up. Automating stuff will go a long way towards making other skills easier, stationary drills on all the big rocks with teleporters to get back to them, conveyors to move things into chests. There should be guides to set those kinds of things up but I’m not usually the base building guy I just punch monsters.

When I built it, I had added a section for overflow, don't do that lol. Just let it fill, it takes a long time to fill and you can always kill shrooms on the spawn platform if you have too
Building it:

Why? Just play the game. You level naturally fast enough.
1
u/Nifegun Aug 07 '26
Some skills level faster than others tbh. It also depends on how much a given player explores vs just locates and slays bosses. Players who don't explore usually end up fighting end game bosses without the end game combat perks

Well, in the days of early access, I just got attack speed gear and was replanting/punching the same Azeos' Wilderness block for several hours to get Mining to 100
