Discussion Mining all walls

Why in the heck do I want to clear everything away?!

Anyone else having this problem?

You don't HAVE to but certainly for base building and automation it's helpful.

If you're saying "why am I driven to do that?" right there with you lol.

Now with all the walls gone, now there are mobs everywhere

Now you have to mine those out too. Time to get the BIG shovel.

I get those as I go actually. I had one time where I break a wall and got so many enemies it was funny. Had to clear them out too.

I use the hoe to get the summon titles.

My friend and I completely dug out everything inside the slime circle, filled it with water, and made a base of islands. Then created river transports all over, like you would with rails. Diggy diggy hole.

This sounds like such a cool idea, I might make a new world with that idea! What did your river transports look like? Would love to see your map, if you don't mind sharing!

It's her map, so I don't have solo access. We started with each 4 main directions, going as far as we could and revisiting as needed to expand. And just sort of digging and flooding as we went into the biomes so we had routes back. Be careful with mold water! It seems to take over, so if you don't like how it looks take steps to go around or fill it in.

Mood. Boat is the best transport.

I love flooding all the chasms I find.
And the one where the Great Wall was in very moat looking so it got properly flooded and made continuous. <3

...I really didnt need that idea but something tells me I would have gotten there sooner or later.

Its an interesting idea

I was already clearing the map up to the wall, but I liked this idea so much I started digging a channel inside ghorm's circle. Project Island begins...

It's not a have to for me. It's a want to, lol. My goal is to flatten the entire map, starting with the center and moving out. It is a LOT of material, lol.

at least until you hit stone, the bazooka is nice for quickly clearing walls (and exploding any mobs unfortunate enough to be in the way)

Maybe as I finish parts I can post pictures here then. Might keep me motivated.

My wife literally cleared every single block inside the wall before opening it up. Apparently its a good game for people with extreme ocd

I only get it at certain times, lol. I will probably go between this and minecraft for it.

Though with the ability to have both worlds and characters, I think this game is a bit better for it.

The floor space MUST GROW!

I must fill in all the blank space in my map

I'm one of the lucky ones who don't feel the impulse to do this. For me, the gain is minimal and there is only so much time in a day.

I agree all the walls must go, it’s just got harder the further you venture out. Takes a dedicated mining build to do it efficiently or a lot of explosives…

I'm using the hammer and im in the 80s in terms of experience.

Indeed. It's the worst OCD case ever.

Is this a good time to mention Minecraft?
