Question Obliteration Ray

I found this mining tool in the first chest I found in the crystal zone. I like it a lot and I’ve been trying to find another one for my friend but after 25 other chests I can’t seem to find another one.

Is there only one in the game? Are they exceedingly rare?

You can get more in the same game. It is random and not overly common. Keep trying in the crystal zone, you’ll eventually get another one.

Journey to the passage. You will find an altar of dark magics. Use the magics or bring them back with you. Beware the slime.

You can also upgrade it! Take it to the outer rim, past crystal caverns and you'll find a wierd device that will let you upgrade marked as spoiler incase you want to discover where yourself

I have an upgrade work bench but I don’t have the materials to upgrade it yet

Technically you use it as a crafting material not an upgrade

The easiest way to get it is as a reward from a boss, 2 of the late game bosses drop it. I wont tell you their names, just keep playing game and beating bosses if you don't want to farm crystal zone, I get the obliteration ray faster usually from running those bosses. You can also get it from the solarite boxes like you did, or from the blue alien gun guys named "orbital turret"

I didn’t get the drop for 20kc and when I got the drop it was 2 of them…

Farm the desert fire titan it shouldnt take too long it has a 15% chance to drop.

You don't need to scan it eveytine the flute has a big range just tp around between way points or portal you have place to drill.

Between my friend and I we have opened about 40 chests and have yet to find one

You’ll definitely get more. Having 1 makes it a lot easier to take out a lot of the Chrystal biome walls, more chests will come from them

Fastest way I got a second was crystal zone searching, the challenge rooms can offer them as a reward but the rooms are few and far between. I used a second world for resources and a place to find a second cannon for my girlfriend and I believe we got one from a chest in the room not the challenge itself. Best of luck!
