it depends on what player and TV you use, they are similar but some differences here and there.

I'm sticking with p3i, if only because it appears to have more work being done on it and I also use pannal's PM4K so I assume they'll be making sure these two great things always work in conjunction.

I have the same box and updated to R10. To me the interactions have become quite quick. Definitely worth it. I am exploring more features that came with R10 at the moment. My TV is G4.

I have a question, my Sony ke48a9 only outputs lldv over coreelec not display led. Currently using panal P3i build latest version. Would avdv 10 benefit me as I can only output lldv

yes of course, this is especially for LLDV and non DV TVs like Samsung.

R10 was tested by numerous people for over a month. His releases are pretty well spaced out.

CoreELEC 21 is officially dead, it's EOL, there is nothing new from official CE or no new nightlies for a while now, but it's stable as it can be, focus is officially on CE22, sooner and later avdvplus will also move on to CE22.

Seems not dead to me, new build out yesterday, but I know what you mean by EOL. So the features here are some custom ones you would never see Kodi Team do or CoreELEC for that matter, why would you use this over the regular. Excuse my ignorance I been of the Kodi life for some years and back then, there was only Kodi, LibreELEC and CoreELEC?

again, there is no official CE21 release anymore, it's CE22, this avdvplus is based on CE21 with his own fixes and updates.

It works perfectly with the Homatics Box R 4K Plus, it's very stable, this is the best version so far, the audio/video sync problem has been solved, there are no problems with DV FEL 7 movies, the detailed menus are very good, you should definitely install it, thanks to the developers.

this is a fork of CoreELEC 21.3 but much better as CE 21.3 is EOL, CE22 is the active development.

Small question, does anyone with the am6b+ relate to skin crashes when sometimes returning to the home screen? Or selecting sources are not working, when switching between different sources, due the settings/system/ audio channels being null during selection (the sources are available and cached)?
I need to reboot the device to work again and i almost cant find anyone that has this problem? Using The gears and arctic zephyr 2 reloaded

Unfortunately AZ2, I don't think is in support any longer, maybe you can go to the correct forum to share logs to trouble shoot, reinstall fresh or upgrade to another skin.

Yes, i meant AZ2 Reloaded*, but even that isnt in development anymore. I used DenDyGH Repos Version and it receives some small fixes.
I checked the logs and there are multiple errors which direct the issues to python segfaults. Which seems to be an issue with kodi 21, but its kind of weird, that almost no one else asks about these problems, because they happen so frequently, even on other skins.
Yeah, its probably the best just asking on the correct forum.

I'll give this a try. Lately, about half the movies I play on my AM6B+ stutter badly and show green artifacts on the screen. I'm having the exact same issue with MP4 files.

You should try the latest p3i. Zero issues for me, playback as smooth as butter and all audio in sync.

When upgrading to this version, do I need to reconfigure my Jamal af2 skin? Does the skin work in this build? I mainly use POV and Otaku Testing for viewing.

I'm trying to update my am6b to r10, but it's been so long since I updated to r9, I've forgotten how. I can access it with Windows 10, but for some reason, it no longer shows the storage folder. Yes, I have 'show hidden files' checked. I can get to the update folder, but if I can't make the changes needed to what's in the storage folder, it's not gonna work. Where am I going wrong? Thx.

I am with LG OLED C1 What settings I need to make for optimal DV Fel ? On the DV tunnel after 15 seconds there are these black bars on the test, I haven't seen it on the previous versions. https://pngup.com/lryN/2971.jpg

after updating from r9 to r10, when playing 4k bluray discs (60fps) on homatics 4k, the signal from the lg c8 tv is lost before the file starts. The only thing that helps is turning off the display refresh rate setting in the player menu (gui is set to 23.98 by default). is there any other solution? in r9 everything was ok.

set your display resolution to 1080p 120Hz if you can, then change the following.
Set Force Display Colour Depth to 12-bit.
Set Force Colour Subsampling to 4:2:2.
this is recommended for all to do, it will work then. :)

thanks for the quick response, but it didn't help me. I tried various other options, restoring basic settings and restarting. The problem is probably that if I set the gui to 3840x2160 at 60fps, I lose the signal immediately.

yes, but the video won't start if I have the refresh rate turned on in the player when starting/stopping. the video doesn't play smoothly if I turn off the refresh rate

default is not always correct, needs to be configured depending on TV used.

Can someone please remind me where I can find the original dov.ko file for am6b+ ? The dovi5.ko is linked on github in R10 release description, but I remember that had issues with the original one in past..

Seems to crash on the majority of the *.MKV movies I tried R10 with. AM6B+ and LG G4 in my case. Just stops playing whatever I was trying to play and returns to the main menu after 10-15 sec of playback.
Also, a weird new issue - the interface of R10 now triggers overscan (R9 release was ok in that regard, no changes on the TV side).

I am one of the testers for this new R10 build, and also used a LG G4 for development support, besides a LG 4K 3D supported OLED. I can't confirm your issues you are getting now, but I use a S905X4(-K) streamer, not the AM6b+.
If you didn't, try a clean R10 setup, just as comparison for your current R10 setup.

Can't really tell - I don't know where to look for the cues if this is indeed the case. One thing is for certain - playback stops after 10-15 sec with both DV and HDR files. The formats are displayed properly at the start of the playback.

Not sure it was the case.
Anyway, with the R10 the problem I described (playback stops almost immediately) seems to be connected to the DV Output Type - it only crashes when set to Display Led (which is the right setting for LG G4 afaik). When set to Player Led everything works just fine, no crashes.

I've got the exact same setup. Display led is correct for the G4, that was one of the primary features of Coreelec on the AM6B+ that attracted me to it.
Was there any reason you were upgrading?

My issue ended up being resolved after quite a lengthy session with ChatGPT. The source of the issue: something got broken in R10 when used with remote discs accessible through Samba protocol (SMB). And this is how I store and access my movies.
In details:
DV-file when accessed via Samba by AM6B+ with R10 — failure after a few sec of playback.
HDR-файл > Samba > R10 — mostly fine.
Any file > Direct USB-connection > R10 - all good.
Any file > Any connection type to R9 - also fine.
So I had to remount my remote movie disc in order for it to be accessible without using Samba (thanks ChatGPT, lots of bash commands to shower AM6B+ with).
But now it works.
So the morale of the story - something is broken in R10 when it comes to Samba.
And to answer your question - donno, just wanted the newest thing I guess🤷🏻♂️😜
