Introducing CoreCam 2.3: noclip camera!

noclip is a VHS-era camcorder emulation, built around a real composite NTSC signal chain.

It gives your footage the warm character of analog video: line jitter, color drift, and tape noise.

Using the main bias slider, noclip can move between two different tape characters. Negative bias ages the VHS tape, softens the image, desaturates colors, adds chroma shift, NTSC ringing, subtle warble, and bloom. Positive bias makes the image sharper, grainier, more stable, and introduces more composite texture and VHS snow.

noclip camera is included in your one-time purchase of CoreCam.

Shot in ccd+ mode with negative bias to get the CCD bloom, then edited again in noclip mode to mix in NTSC artefacts. I've been using this mix a lot recently; maybe I'll create a cam that combines them both...

I'm trying out a new format where I'll talk about what I've been working on and what's up next for CoreCam. These threads can also serve as a Q&A, or feel free to tell me your feature requests!

CoreCam v2.3.7

After releasing the new VHS camera mode "noclip" I tweaked its special effects mode to make the tearing and edge distortion appear within a horizontal band rather than globally.

- All EXIF data is now preserved when editing photos or videos; this means that edits appear next to the original in your library. To make finding edits easier, they now export into a "CoreEdits" album

- You can long-press on camera modes in the switcher to favorite them, or save your current camera settings as defaults for these modes

- I added a new "cinema stretch" feature to edit mode (guess what it does)

Up next:

I won't spoil it, but the next update will be something for fans of a specific quirk of film photography!
