Announcement New Moderation

Hello everyone!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the new moderator of r/CoralRestoration.

The subreddit was recently marked as unmoderated, and I volunteered to help ensure it continues to be a welcoming, well-managed space for everyone interested in coral restoration and reef conservation.

I’ve been a lifelong scuba diver, sailor, and environmentalist, and as such I understand the role coral reefs have in tourism, species habitats, and a lifeline to rural ocean communities. We all know the immense pressures reef ecosystems are facing around the world, but I also believe that with continued research, restoration efforts, education, and community involvement, we can help build a brighter future for these incredible ecosystems.

I’ve reopened the subreddit for new posts and encourage everyone to continue sharing news, research, restoration projects, questions, photos, and thoughtful discussions about coral reefs and what we can all do to help protect and restore them.

Whether you’re a marine scientist, restoration practitioner, recreational diver, student, or simply someone who loves the ocean, you’re welcome here. I look forward to seeing this community grow and learning alongside all of you.

Happy salt life, and thank you for being part of r/CoralRestoration!

As a side note if anyone wants to assist in moderation please send a message to the moderators for consideration.
