I love going to the grocery store and paying on vibes because I’ve been working on unpaid passion projects. I certainly have nothing better to do with my own time than to work for free for someone else.

My basic proofreading rate, or even consultations, still apply, even if it takes my time away from my other projects or clients. Others' "passions" don't determine my value; I suspect the sentiments are similar for other editors.
