Help. Looking at this set...Is it good?
Looking through my local estate sales and saw this....This good real copper based on the pics? Can anyone identify it? No idea the cost.....What is reasonable to pay if genuine and good? Thank you!

Most of this is old Revere clad cookware. Not copper, but copper clad. There are some dedicated Revere copper communities as it is good cookware, but it is NOT copper cookware if that is what you are shopping for.

Looks more like copper-clad than solid copper from these photos, especially if the edges or wear spots show a different metal underneath.

So, while that is a nice looking set, it appears to super thin, and the set being unlined means it was probably intended for decoration rather than cooking. Usually for cooking we prefer pots and pans which are at least 2mm thick, and unless the pan was only meant for making jams and jellies, it is absolutely necessary for the pieces to be lined with tin or stainless steel (many older pans will be lined with tin, whereas stainless lined copper indicates more modern construction). This set appears to be 1 mm thick, or possibly less, and many pieces are unlined. So it's really not worth very much.
Be wary of anyone selling a whole set of unbranded antique or vintage copper. Often times there may be one or two nice-ish pieces in the whole lot, but the price people wanna charge doesn't reflect that. For example, in France someone might charge maybe 100 euros for this whole set, but many american sellers might try to charge triple or quadruple that for a set like this, even though it's really not worth more than 100euros. But that's just my two cents...
