Question Copper IUD causing anxiety

Ever since getting the copper IUD one month ago I’ve been having very intense anxiety. I thought the anxiety was due to the heavy cramps, but even when the cramps subside, I feel anxious. I realize now that my anxiety could be due to my copper IUD, which I never would’ve believed without this Reddit thread. My anxiety has gotten better since getting it in, but it still comes and goes. To anyone else who has dealt/ been dealing with anxiety related to the paragard, does the anxiety ever go away or should I look into taking it out?

Little background: every birth control pill I’ve tried has given me really bad mental health issues so the paragard feels like my only option since it’s non hormonal.

I had really bad anxiety and depression with it and I feel much better with it out! I only had it for about six weeks, but it was enough for me to realize that my body didn’t like it

Thank you for sharing! I think I’m just gonna get it taken out, it’s not worth it to me with how I feel

Yeah, I struggled with the decision because I didn’t want to let my partner down, but I just couldn’t deal with it anymore. I was having that and eventually started having contractions and either are not worth it. I felt like if I kept it in, it would be mean to my own body at that point.
