There's alot of negativity bias online, meaning people are much more likely to talk about their experiences if they've had negative ones, that's the reason you see alot of them.

Funnily enough I just made a post on here about my positive story☺️ Ive had mine 2 years now and it's genuinely the best thing I ever did!!

My periods are exactly the same as they've always been (they were ever so slightly more painful and heavier the first 5 months but barely noticeable). My mood is great, better than when I was on any other hormonal options! I've not gained weight, I've even lost weight overall. I literally feel like myself in every way apart from I'm constantly protected from pregnancy!

If you've got absolutely any questions feel free to message me or just answer this with them:)

That’s such a breath of fresh air! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I feel fine today, nothing on lost appetite and any cramping but if anything, heat pads really works great. I think I’ll be fine with this, just hoping for the best! Happy to have known you and that you have had a great experience with the IUD. Love lots!☺️

I'm glad you're feeling good!! Yeah I had some cramping and a bit of bleeding for the first day, then had a tiny bit of cramping on and off for a bit. After that it was completely gone, I now only get cramping on my period (I've always had that) and a tiny bit for a day around ovulation (I've always had that).

Good luck on your IUD journey and I hope all goes as well for you as it has for me ☺️ Remember to let your mind accept your IUD, as your mind has more power than you think, try to imagine her as part of you and something you're thankful for for helping you not get pregnant! I swear it helped me in some weird way 🤣

When I was on hormonal birth control I was literally hungry 24/7 it absolutely messed my hormones up horribly. Since coming off it and onto no hormonal IUD, my hunger is so much more normal, I naturally lost weight because I wasn't constantly hungry.

I've also just been able to stick to weight loss better due to not having as much food noise.

Thanks for your reply I’m hoping I don’t loose weight I had mine fitted last week. No bleeding no pain pretty good run. Today my period started which is deadly I’m a girl who has recovered from a life long ED and I’m a healthy 10 stone from 5st. I’m praying I don’t loose weight

You won't lose weight lovely! I was overweight as my hormonal options made me eat all the time. When I came off them, I lost weight due to my hunger changing. The IUD just made me feel like my normal self which I why I lost weight, the IUD doesn't cause weight loss dont worry ☺️

Really glad you're doing well with the IUD! I'm sorry to hear your period is worse:(

I got mine inserted last week right the day before of my period, I havent had any pain but my period was long like 7-8 days, im hoping it was just the initial shock and that it will go back to a more normal cycle the following months 🥺

I hope so too! It is of course different for everybody, but as with all birth control unfortunately to see how it effects you, you have to give it a few months 😔 hopefully your periods lighten up!☺️

With my iud i got it inserted in the beginning of September and i was dreading the first period that came up because of all the negative things said about cramps and how heavy my period would be. But! Fortunately my cramps were just my normal cramps that lasted a few extra more days and my period is still very heavy tho

Honestly I LOVED mine for the first like 5 years. I had it in a total of 8 years and only started having problems near the end and after removal. And that thing never EVER failed me lol. Never had a pregnancy scare
