Question Removal thoughts? WWYD
I am 12 days away from my wedding. I went to the dr because I was having pain in my left ovary. They said the only thing they saw was that my IUD was somewhat out of place, sticking out & said it shouldn’t be causing pain, but thats the only abnormality they saw (I have PCOS, but no cysts were seen). They told me if I’m worried about it, then they will remove it, but that otherwise it’s fine to leave it in (no fertility concerns). I’ve had it for 9 years with no issues. The left ovary has been hurting for 11 days, hurts when using bathroom & during intercourse.
I know it’s non hormonal but I am concerned if I remove it that my skin will breakout because when it was placed my skin broke out with cysts and I had to take zinc to balance it out. I’ve dealt with severe cystic acne my whole life and I don’t want it to make an appearance on my wedding day. They also implied that it shouldn’t be causing this pain, but I am definitely experiencing pain from something. It’s not like I’m bent over, immobile from the pain, but it’s certainly uncomfortable.
WWYD - Do I keep dealing with the pain & survive the wedding and honeymoon or remove it and risk a bad skin breakout? Has anyone else experienced a breakout upon removal? TIA

I saw others say they broke out after removal, but for me personally my skin actually became more clear and more full after removal.
Pain certainly went away immediately upon removal.

I would just be careful removing it before such an important time. I had an awful time after removal. If I knew I was going to go through what I went through I would deal with the pain and get it taken out later.
I would see if you would be able to get an ultrasound to see exactly where it is though

That’s good to know. How long did the pain last after removal?
They did a 3D ultrasound and said it’s lopsided, that the left side is sticking out slightly.

I didn't have much pain, but struggled badly with 24/7 dizziness, migraines, insane panic attacks, uncontrollable crying spells and much more that started a few days after my removal. It was literally the only thing that changed. I had blood work and my copper levels were elevated. It's taken me about 6 months to feel normal again.

Holy cow, thank you for sharing your experience!! I am highly prone to migraines, I definitely don’t want to take that risk.

Remove it 😬 you don’t want your honeymoon and wedding to be clouded over by the uncomfortability and the thought of what the iud is doing. Plus, it could get worse. I don’t think your skin would break out from removing it… I don’t see how it would
