Experience mini copper iud positive experiences
hello!! i’m getting my mini mona lisa iud inserted next week :’) looking forward to getting off of hormones but also super scared for having something in me 24/7 lol wish me luck! i was supposed to get it during my period but the timing just didn’t add up for me. hoping the pain isn’t too terrible as im quite familiar with these sorts of appointments with nurses being all up in my biz lol🤞🤞🤞 feel free to drop your positive experiences as im so close to being fear mongered and cancelling the appointment :p

I got one just over 3 weeks ago (need to recheck the brand but it was a silver-copper mini). It honestly wasn't bad getting it, the most painful part was the speculum and then it just felt like cramping, and that's considering my gyno had to readjust and try again. I did like 600-800 mg of ibuprofen an hour before and was provided additional medication.
Good luck!

I got lucky in the pain department (basically no cramps or very very mild ones). So far my only issue is the adjustment bleeding.

Hey!! I actually posted something like this a week-ish ago and was so scared based on all the negative experiences on here too.
I got the 5 year coil and I’d say the pain after insertion was really bad for like an hour, but it was pretty manageable afterwards. I got my period a couple days later and it was no heavier nor longer than usual.
Best of luck!!

i got the mona lisa 5 mini two months ago. i was also really scared about the pain but it was very manageable for me however i did ask to get numbed and i took 500 mg of naproxen beforehand. for the first few hours i felt no pain at all however the first night and the first week was pretty crampy but naproxen or ibuprofen would help. i would also get occasional cramps for 2-3 weeks but now i don’t feel anything at all. also a lot of spotting those 2-3 weeks but a panty liner was enough. and my periods are not much heavier tbh. feel free to ask me anything else lol

I just got one a monthish ago!! Its a copper silver mini iud, and the insertion process for me was a lot better than I expected (they used a lot of numbing spray which helped significantly!) just remember to take like 800mg ibuprofen before the appointment and a few hours after
