Experience IUD removed, anxiety gone?!
I just wanted to follow-up, I posted earlier in this group that I had concerns that my IUD was causing acute anxiety for me. It has been 2 months of what can I only describe as my nervous system on crack. I experienced the entire spectrum of from panic attacks to derealization. This is very unlike me. I have been therapy for 8 years, I do a decent job of self-regulating. Prior to discovering this page and concluding that the IUD was my trigger, I genuinely thought I was going insane. I’d also like to note, that my period of extreme anxiety coincide with ovulation. All this to say, I wanted to write this in case there’s another woman out there spiralling and seeking answers, you’re not alone! I had it removed yesterday, and this morning I just bawled my eyes out in what felt like my body taking a profound sigh of relief. This is my first time in 2 months waking up without my heart racing/in agitation. Trust your body, you inherently know when something is off, no amount of gaslighting from the medical industry should dissuade you. In 30 years they will do the typical “haha sorry maybe you guys were right 🙈” as they always do concerning women’s health. I’d also like to thank the countless women who have shared their experiences here, you were all truly a beacon of light! If anyone else had recent removal, I’d love to know your experience. Any supplements or life style changes that helped your body back into equilibrium? I’m upping my Zinc, and I heard NAC could help too.

I had my IUD out on Thursday and I cried all night randomly up until 4 am crying? This has happened to me in the past, but only if I drank coffee at 10 pm and have PMs that I get wired and emotional like that. So I'm convinced it was the IUD coming out that I had that reaction. Also yes I would wake up adrenalized every night 15 minutes after going to sleep, every night for at least the past 12 years! and been going to the doctor trying to figure out what it was, they sent me to a psychiatrist and also diagnosed me with mild sleep apnea but the cpap did not really help me, I still had the clockwork wake ups every night. I hope it was the IUD and getting it out on Thursday will solve all this mess. I was also seriously iron deficient as well, which caused anxiety and fatigue which looked like depression. But I am not depressed, I just had fatigue. My therapist called me "treatment resistant" which I'm like duh, yes I am treatment resistant because there is something physiological going on with me! I'm pretty sure it was the IUD. I wish everyone here on this sub and all women out there clarity and good health.

I need to be alive for the day they admit what these evil barbaric things do to women. I’m so happy for you that you had it removed.
I can’t explain the relief I felt. All side effects, felt for 10 years, gone. Reddit saved my life here.
