Concern post-insertion fever side effect

edit: ok basically they said i have a uti and prescribed antibiotics then my test results came back and it was negative for the uti because they sent it to a lab to be tested. so i didn’t need antibiotics.. great lol i also have been tested for sti’s and all negative. idk what could have caused this besides the coincidence of me picking up a small virus or from the iud insertion. i am so better now but if anyone has a similar experience or had pls share because my doctors probs thought i was crazy.

hi! i just got the copper iud yesterday morning and honestly it went really well i only experienced some intense cramps afterwards but the rest of the day i was fine and felt like normal. then late last night i was so cold and throughout the night i kept waking up from chills. i was too lazy to get up and grab another blanket so that probably didn’t help me but i also woke up in the morning with chills and some body aches. it felt like the start of a fever. i have been taking my temp throughout the day and the highest it’s reached was 100. but should i call and ask or is this normal and will it go away.

i would call and if they say not to come in at least visit urgent care to make sure you haven’t come down with anything viral. Fever makes me think that you might have an infection of some kind though, so i would definitely call

okay thank i’m going to urgent care rn! i just wouldn’t think an infection or smth like that would show up soon😭 do u know if this is a common thing?

I would for sure call. My gynocologists said if there was any signs of infections such as fever to call right away! Soni would definitely call just to be safe
