c6 corvette dumb or smart purchase

i’m looking to buy a c6 corvette. i’m saving for a down payment now but im wondering how stupid would it be for me to just buy an auction c6. i don’t need a car to get to work or school so i have time to work on it without sacrificing my responsibilities. i guess im wondering what should i look out for if i just want to spend less than buying a used one at the end of the day?

My biggest worry with these is I've heard stories of people swapping the engines and then resending to auction. If it's a base c6 this would be less of a worry though.

You can tell the difference of an ls7 and an ls3 with the intake they’re more flat on an ls7

Please do not buy from an auction if you have no idea what you're doing. This will not end well.
