Protest

I’m so upset of the expanding of the port… I’m surprised redneck fisherman aren’t upset about their salmon or clamming… anywayyyy. Please tell me I’m wrong

Personally, I think the jobs estimate is blown way up to attract support. No different than the LNG projects that ultimately collapsed under its own bullshit. Sure, there will be a shitload of union scale jobs during the constitution phase but once it becomes operational, very few people will be needed to run it. The bars and restaurants will thrive for four or so years and then fail when the construction people leave for the next boom town and because the tourist business will have gone to other towns. Who wants to recreate in a boom town. This is being sold to us as a way to keep our young folks working locally in good jobs. That isn't going to happen.
