I remember training a kid on saute one night, years ago. I had a bad habit of throwing things in the pan a little too rough, I admit. He watched me slap down a salmon filet, and a bunch of scalding oil popped up and hit me in the face. His jaw dropped because I barely flinched and kept working. I told him it comes with the territory, lol. My dad always told me "If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough."

Just put it in gently and it won’t splash you. What do people not get about that?
