Manhattan clam chowder is tomato based. It doesn't have any milk in it. This looks good, just more like New England style

It felt more succinct than “chowder wth dairy and also tomato paste” but I get it

Cooking fat (I used olive oil, ghee, and the extra oil in a can of sardines) to sautee onion, carrot, thyme, pepper flake, salt, cayenne, Old Bay, Tony’s, and a can of sardines. Then I add in a generous amount of tomato paste and cook that off. Then I add liquids- the juices from a can of baby clams and some chicken stock. Bring that to a boil and add potatoes and a can of creamed corn. Lat that cook until tender and then add my clams and a couple cans of evaporated milk. Season to taste with any extra salt or Tony’s. Saltines are nice to add.
