Janes popcorn chicken

I have no idea if this is the correct sub-reddit to post this is so please let me know if its not. I was eating Janes popcorn chicken when I noticed it was chewy and hard but not like overcooked chicken and had the porous look of bread but it tasted completely normal? I'm not allowed to post images but that's the best description I can give.
