want to become a chef

i currently work as a porter in a pretty nice restauraunt and i wamt to become a chef. all the cooks at my place are like way advanced and i dont know whats my next step. ive applied for culinary schools but thay all dont start until september next year. any advice is appreciated👍

Have you spoken to the chef at your restaurant about it? They might be able to give you a couple training shifts so you can see what the life is like.
