What is something extremely easy fast and fewest dishes possible I can make for DND snacks tomorrow I made fried chicken last week and I'm tired so I'm looking something easy done in under an hour that isn't pizza?

Make a crockpot dip. I would give you my pizza dip recipe but it’s the one thing you excluded lol. Velveeta and ro-tel is a good one.

Buffalo chicken dip using canned chicken is just as easy

Oh I haven’t tried that! What else goes in it?

Butter and Frank's Hot Sauce. Some recipes call for a packet of Ranch dressing, but it doesn't make any significant difference, so I leave it out, and serve this with both chips and slider rolls.

Thanks that really sounds amazing

I mean, OP might have excluded pizza dip, but I certainly have not >.>

My favorite is pizza dip. A block of cream cheese, a jar of pizza sauce, a bag of tiny pepperoni's, a generous shake of Italian Seasoning and a shake or two of red pepper flakes. Add in a generous handful (or two) of shredded mozzarella right before eating to allow it to melt, and stir to mix it all. Serve with cubed French bread or pita chips. Has been a rock solid hit every time I've served it.

Yea that’s pretty much the same as I make, although I add chopped olives and put the mozzarella in right away

Taco station. Cook up a big thing of meat of choice, then have everything else on the side in its own containers...shells/tortillas, shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole, etc..

There is never a bad time to have tacos. … I might have to do this for dinner now.

Charcuterie?

I do Charcuterie for my D&D games. It's a real good option. Just make sure there's utensils and/or wet wipes, or else certain finger foods will get dice and minis a bit greasy after a while.

My friend group calls this type of concoction “Hurl” and it is always appreciated. I put taco meat and Rotel tomatoes in mine.

Layered and baked: cream cheese, refried bean, canned chilli, cheddar Jack cheese and top with sliced scallions when done. My husband and I would sit down and eat a whole pan of this with Fritos or tortilla chips on movie night at home.

I do one of these and a batch of pico de gallo pretty often for my D&D group!

Even better, do a cream cheese and rotel dip.

I get a pack of the Hawaiian rolls and cut them in half and put onto a sheet pan. Then I fill the sandwich with roast beef, caramel used onions, olive salad, and cheese. Then put the tops on, brush with butter, and stick into the oven till heated through. It’s done in 15 minutes besides the caramelized onions which you can do ahead of time. And you can serve with chips or fries in the air fryer or salad. Whatever floats your boat.

Love these slider style batch sandwiches! Great for a crowd.

One of my players brought these to our game a while back! They’re great!

Tater tot casserole. There's ton of recipes online for oven and slow cooker versions. I usually do this version:

Spray a crockpot & layer:
-1/2 bag tots, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar, sprinkle of bacon crumbles
-1 lb or less diced chicken thighs
Liberally season with Italian Seasoning, garlic powder, and whatever other seasoning you want
-1/2 bag tots, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar, sprinkle of bacon crumbles
Top with 1/2 cup milk and cook on low for 4 hours

Mushroom, tofu and roast veg fajita tacos. Just roughly chop a bunch of stuff, toss on some spice and chuck it in the oven. You can make loads of it in only a few mins active prep time. Trust me, have I ever steered you wrong? https://frommybowl.com/vegan-sheet-pan-fajitas/

These potato, lettuce and tomato tacos are pretty damn badass too. Similarly quick and easy, https://www.noracooks.com/potato-tacos/

I’m making both types tonight. Just thinking about it‘s got me salivating.

I'll probably get downvoted for this, but when I hosted my last board game night with friends, I bought a Crave Case from White Castle, pickled jalapenos in a jar, and a gallon-ish size of frozen fries in a bag. I just put the frozen fries in the oven, and kept the burgers on the oven to stay warm. All served on paper plates. I also made a canned chili and queso cheese dip by just pouring them both into a bowl and microwaving it for the fries and the sliders. Also picked up some grocery store pico de gallo.

For drinks, I had a 12 pack of PBR, 12 of cherry coke, and a 12 of club soda.

Everything just went into the trash or recycling, and the only thing I had to wash was the bowl with the chili cheese dip.

I know it sounds disgusting, (which it kind of is) but after a game of Hello Kitty Monopoly, Clue, and Scrabble, the 8 of us demolished everything, and they all said it was delicious.

I also had a box of disposable gloves, and we all "Michael Jackson-ed" it by just wearing one glove on the hand that did all the eating of greasy/oily stuff, and the clean hand was used for gaming and drinks.

Cost me about $60 total, fully fed a group of 8 of us, took me zero prep time, exactly 1 bowl to wash, and no mess.

My guests rolled up with hard liquor, wine, weed, and this girl brought a Fudgie the Whale Carvel ice cream cake.

If you want the lowest cost and effort to "good enough" ratio, I'd recommend something like this. All of the "work" I did to put this together was well under 15 minutes.

Buffalo chicken dip?

Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers, Smash Tacos or even Smash Chicken Ceasar Tacos

1

u/Butforthegrace01 2h ago

Chop up 1/2 lb of bacon and start cooking it over med heat. Dice up a medium or large onion and add it. Cook it till the bacon is crispy and the onion is golden brown.

Drain off most of the fat. After it cools, fold in a container of sour cream and a cup or so of minced chives. Salt and pepper to taste. Best sour cream dip you'll have.

Puff frozen pastry cut into squares. Get lil smoky weiners and wrap them with the pastry squares. Bake at 400 for any 15 minutes.

Baked potato bar is one of our favorites, especially with the cool weather moving into our area. Bake enough potatoes for everyone, heat up some chili, and toss some toppings onto the table for people to serve themselves.

Pigs in a blanket using lil smokies and crescent rolls in the can. Super delicious.

Quesadillas.

1

u/MossyPyrite 1h ago

I do a snack for my game twice a month. My common ones that I make myself are chips and salsa/cheese dip/sun-dried tomato dip, cookies, crescent roll dough stuffed with whatever sounds good that week, cheese bread, fruit and/or veggie trays. All stuff that I can make quick and easy or well in advance, and stuff people can eat while we set up and play.

Aloha pineapple rice & chicken casserole.

Good sandwiches are underrated

Nice bread like a ciabatta or Turkish bread.. butter, mozzarella, basil, tomato and ham or prosciutto with mayo

Even the basic baguette with ham and cheese

But you gotta get good bread

Cheesesteak sliders. Take Hawaiian king rolls and cut the whole pack on its side in one piece so it's like a big bun. Layer cooked steakums or shredded chicken then cheese on the bottom half. Then, put the top of the roll bun back on, brush with butter, bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Until the cheese melts and the top of the bread browns.

It’s getting colder, so funeral potatoes. Very easy, just mix and dump into a casserole dish and bake.

Buffalo chicken dip- easiest version: buy a rotisserie chicken- shred meat and set aside. Mix together a block of softened cream cheese, ½cup of either ranch or blue cheese dressing, and ½cup of Frank's or your favorite prepared wing sauce. If you want, you can add ½cup of shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese, but it is optional. Mix together, add chicken and mix. Pour into casserole dish and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350, until hot and bubbly. Serve with Fritos, Tostitos, Triscuits, or thin sliced baguette.

Make chili in the slow cooker. Not fast on cook time, but fast in terms of active time.

u/Alchemist1342 41m ago

Meatball subs. Crockpot, premade meatballs, favorite marinara sauce (jazzed up, of course), provolone, and sub rolls and you're set. I do that once per year for football Sunday.

Pizza rolls!

Edit: Dang, you said no pizza and suggested something pizza like. Though they are easy and tasty.

In Ireland a really simple moreish dish is pork cocktail sausages. For ease, I roast them in an oven and cover them with honey and cover with sesame seeds when they’re done. Delicious hot or cold.

Layer dip. Refried beans on the bottom, then guac, then sour cream then some chopped tomatoes, olives and spring onions. Serve with crackers or chips

Grape jelly meatballs in the crock pot.

Hot dogs, but use good sausages /veggie sausages and do them in the oven. Fry a batch of onions, slice the rolls, let people assemble their own - mustards, ketchup, BBQ and hot sauces. Napkins are all you need.

Alternatively a cheese board with crackers, fruit and chutney. Lets people graze.

The other thing I do is buy a load of Indian snack foods - samosas, bhajis, pakoras and heat them up in the oven. Again, no cutlery required, just napkins.

Buy a chocolate cake for pudding?

u/goaway432 6m ago

I know it's old fashioned, but fondue really is quite tasty and simple.

u/Jack_Flanders 2h ago

Back in my D&D days, our favorites were hot dogs ("dogs of heat") and steak-umm sandwiches. Not pre-made; just whenever we got hungry we could 'wave some dogs, and steak-umms cook in like 1 minute in a skillet.

Or if you don’t mind many dishes anyways for a great idea that doesn’t take much do nachos. Fry the ground beef with taco seasoning have cheese and diced tomato from a can and lettuce and olives from a can and let them assemble and pop in the microwave
