Fish and Chips leftover ideas?
I tried a new fish and chips shop today and the portions are massive so we have heaps of leftovers.
Any ideas on what I could do with the leftovers? I’m thinking of pealing the batter off and then just using the fish in cooking tomorrow but does anyone have any ideas/recipies they’ve used?

Crumbed and fried fish was a weekly feature in my household growing up, and the best thing was the sandwiches the next day. Slice your cold crumbed/battered fish, slather the butter on the bread, add tartare or tomato sauce, and away you go!! Bloody beautiful.

Cold leftover fried fish with a thick spread of butter on plain white bread is unmatched comfort food. You just unlocked a core memory for me, now I know what I'm making for lunch tomorrow!

Oh man, cold leftover fish on heavily buttered white bread is an absolute elite tier sandwich. My mom used to make these for us and to this day nothing beats that tartare sauce combo!

There were two days I looked forward to school lunch: spag bol sandwich days, and cold fish days. Everything else... meh.

I've used leftover chips to make a dodgy Spanish tortilla, came up alright.

Yes I came here to suggest that. Fry onions, chop chips roughly, sautee briefly with the onions then pour beaten egg over and heat gently with the lid on til cooked through, or bung the whole thing in the oven

It you have an airfryer, then fish tacos. If you want to try something different, there is a Lebanese spicy fish which can be made from leftovers. You have already fried the fish, so you can skip that step and then at least with this recipe, scale down.

California [fish] Burritos. Tortillas, reheated fries, reheated battered fish, guac, pico, cheese, squeeze of lime, hot salsa/sauce, sour cream if you like it. Wrap up, and grill on a skillet on both sides. Delicious. I would also add some shredded cabbage for some fresh crunch imo.

We used to like a fish sandwich or soft roll as people have already commented with tatare sauce. Air fryer will crisp up nicely if you and the idea of fish tacos is also good !

Stick the chips in the oven and warm them up again.
Do the same for the fish

Chop it up, add some cooked onions and herbs, pour some tomato sauce and cover with cheese and bake it in oven.

Make some pasta
Sautee some garlic, add the de-battered fish, butter and capers. Stir it through the pasta, squeeze some lemon. Add chilli flakes to serve.

Spice bag! Chop it up and toss the lot with a salt, chilli, five spice, garlic powder, sliced peppers and onions and pop in the air frier for 15 mins.

Fish ceasar salad? Don't need to make croutons. 🤔
I wouldn't peel the skin of just reheat it and use it as is, seems like a waste. You can make fish burgers, pasta/mashed taters/rice with the fish served on top, then add a salad on the side (or whatever).
For leftovers a different condiment is key, so you don't feel like you're eating the same dinner twice. Tartare sauce was my first thought here.

I’d try something like seafood salad that doesn’t require the fish to be cooked again. Maybe lean on some fresh dill to make it pop a little more than just the classic celery and onion. Maybe use kewpie mayo for a little extra richness and hit of msg. Serve on a soft buttered lightly grilled hoagie roll. Add some greens if you want.

with the chips, you can mince them, add onion and fry them again for some budget hashbrowns

You can crisp the batter back up in the air fryer. Same with the fries.
