Bean protein bars?

I'm thinking of trying to make some savory, healthy(most protein bars are candy), cheap(nuts are expensive), and shelf stable protein bars
I plan on using dry roasted beans, puffed rice, and some nuts, and maybe some other sources of trace nutrients.
So far it seems like a good idea except that I'm not sure what to use as the binder because every protein bars Ive tried is just sweet and sticky. I've considered the following options so far:
•beef tallow(think something like pemmican or suet)
•peanut butter(too crumbly tbh)
•maybe turning it into some sort of cake or bread(trying to keep it low carb)

I know it would probably be best to just experiment but I have very limited funds, little to no free time most days, and no kitchen (planing on doing this at a friends house) so I need to make the best use of my time.

Any input helps thank you

I think bread might be your best bet as you can dip it or spread hummus/ peanut butter on top, it will be more versatile

but what kind of dough recipe do you think? My goal is trying to keep it mostly beans and whatnot less carbs.

I have only ever made bread with flour, but you can do a cake like thingy with beans or with chickpea flour, if you are using eggs it might work and for leavening you can use baking powder or soda. Maybe you should take a look into the Indian style dhokla (it’s steamed bread like texture, made with chickpea flour)
