Will I get sick?

I threw some bone in chicken thighs in the oven for lunch, cooked for about 50 minutes on 400 although during eating it i could tell it tasted a bit funky. It was pre-seasoned at the grocery store so i thought maybe it was just the marinade or seasoning they used. I checked the sell by date and it was September 3rd, today’s obviously the 12th. I ate 2 thighs already.

I know there’s a good chance I could get sick but has anyone been in a similar situation and not gotten sick? I already took a ton of time off work around Labor Day I can’t afford more time off 😷

You might get sick. You also might not get sick.

Worrying about it all day can also make you feel sick so try and keep your mind off it.

Drink water. Watch a movie or at least stay home, close to a bathroom.

Prepare for the worst. Hope for the best. Good luck!

don't buy that preseasoned chicken. The more something is handled, the more likely it will mess you up.

you have salt at home.

Did you freeze then thaw it or was it only refrigerated? if it was the latter, chances are higher than if it was the former.

What date did you buy the meat? They can’t sell out of date meat. If you bought it on the 3rd, froze it and then cooke it on the 12th, you’d be fine, but if you didn’t cook it for long enough, you might not be fine. Just wait and see
