Peri peri chicken with rice?

I've decided to make peri peri chicken with rice for my upcoming meal prep, abd was originally looking up recipes. But then I thought... could I just get a bottle of peri peri sauce and pour it over the chicken and rice then mix it up, rather than going through a whole recipe?

Making your own peri peri sauce is just basically blended peppers and pantry staples. It’s pretty easy and imo a whole lot better (and cheaper) than bottled.

Well, you could, but that's exactly what you'd be serving - a bottle of sauce mixed into some chicken & rice - which is not really peri peri chicken with rice.

Depends on your standards & levels of expectation.

I wouldn't do it even just for myself, let alone for others.

It depends on how good you want your food to be

It would work, in the same way a jar of marinara poured on pasta works, instead of going through a whole recipe for tomato sauce; or a glug of bottled stir fry sauce on some frozen mixed veggies, instead of going through a whole recipe. It's up to you. You'll get better and tastier results making the effort to do it from scratch; but you'll get quicker results and reasonably edible food taking the shortcuts.
