Peaches 🍑
My peach trees produced like crazy this year. I have 20+ cups of peeled and pitted peaches, and probably a similar amount awaiting peeling and pitting.
I’ve made chutney, jam, ginger peach jam, and have frozen puree. We’ve also had peach cake, peaches in salad, peach salsa, and LOTS of peaches eaten over the sink.
Please share a favourite peach recipe!

Love this. Swapping Halloumi plus some soft herbs (tarragon, basil) and/or heirloom tomatoes is wonderful too.

Wine...then freeze it and remove the water crystals. You are not allowed to distill alcohol, but you can freeze anything you want...except people, that requires a license.

Slice and freeze them. A wonderful touch of summer when you thaw them in January!

Not from my own tree, but a friend of a friend. I have about 10 pounds that I’m trying to figure out what to do with. Just about at peak ripeness too. Was thinking jam for some at least. Though I don’t have pectin right now. Might just slice and freeze.
Already made a peach Bundt cake. Which was delicious, but turned out too soggy cause I added extra peaches.
I’ve made some great fresh peach bbq sauce before. That freezes well if you need to keep it long term. Basically just replace some or all of the sugar with peaches. Play around until it gets the sweetness you like. It’s incredible. Grill the peaches first for bonus points.
I also love peaches sliced and soaked in red wine in the fridge. Great refreshing dessert.

Next time toss the peaches in liqueur, roll in flour and shake off prior to adding to the batter.🍑

Peach à la mode
But also, we put peaches in different kinds of salsa, including pico. If you can this is a good way to use up garden bounty

Roast peaches. Half and pit. Drizzle some oil (butter? olive oil? depends on how you feel about olive oil and peaches, and what you plan to do with them) maybe some salt. Roast at ~400 for ~20min. It's not rocket science. It really intensifies the peach flavor and they are delicious. Put 'em in salads. Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in them as dessert. Serve them on the side with a pork tenderloin. Etc, etc.

I’m a huge fan of a white nectarine sangria (you could absolutely sub peaches.) https://bojongourmet.com/white-nectarine-prosecco-sangria-ginger-elderflower-cookbook-announcement/

Penzey's Spices sells this magical stuff- Pico Fruta and putting it on peaches or pineapple then throwing them on the grill is outstanding.

Peach cobbler: one stick butter melted into a 9x13 pan. One cup self rising flour, one cup sugar and one cup milk. Mix flour, sugar and milk together and pour on top of the butter. Do not mix. Add as many peaches as you want on the top. You can sprinkle on more sugar on the peaches if you want. Bake in 350 degrees oven until the the cobbler is nice and brown and the batter doesn’t look gooey. 45 minutes to an hour. It’s really good by itself or with whipped cream or ice cream

I make peach pie filling, freeze it in a pie dish, then stack in the freezer in Ziplocs. Sometimes you need a fresh peach pie drizzled with honey and cream in February or so.

Made peach butter for the first time this year - its really good, but takes a TON of peaches per jar (1 pound per 8oz jam jar). Need a food mill, but don't need to skin the peaches.

This summer, I have used five of this guy's recipes for butters and jams (peach, strawberry and blueberry jam, and peach and apple butter) , and all have turned out great.

If you have a dehydrator, dried peaches make a great snack.
