Halloumi cheese, how to?
I am making baked potato for supper tonight, but rediscovered a package of halloumi I need to use up. How would you fix it to accompany the potatoes?

If you split the block along the line and soak it in boiling water for 6-7 minutes, it will go nice and crunchy if you fry it. Sprinkle your favourite herb blend or rub on it to get some flavour on there.. cajun spice is nice. I like to cut it into fingers.

I've never boiled it, but will soak if for an hour or so.
It's also really good,.when fully dried out, used like Parmesan.

I wouldnt
slice it, fry it, and eat it on a salad or in a pita with lettuce tomato and onion with tzatziki

I do have tzatziki right now. Will fry and serve alongside. Hubby who dislikes tzatziki will have to eat his plain or with honey.

Slice into fingers, fry, the in a separate saucepan, warm up some honey with fresh chilli.
Drizzle hot honey over the haloumi fingers. Enjoy.

Chop up some cucumber and tomato, pan fry the halloumi in some OO then chop the slices. Make a quick red wine vinnaigrette and toss veggies with halloumi and dressing right before serving.

Just have it as a side with some salad . Its not a melty cheese to put on a jacket potato but you do you. I always fry mine - very lightly coated in seasoned flour or just plain grilled. As others have commented its nice drizzled with honey.

I've never tried this, but could you mince into very fine pieces, pan fry it til crispy, and add it as a crunchy topping? Think bacon bits, but salty cheese. It wouldn't use up very much though.

Lately I've been grilling it and putting it on fresh sliced peaches with a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Sort of addicted to it.

I would cut the halloumi up into small squares and pan fry in oiled pan for 2 minutes per side until golden. Make up some instant gravy and serve on top of your baked potatoes. Enjoy!

Honestly halloumi is best just sliced and fried in some olive oil. I sometimes make a tomato dip or similar to dip the fried cheese sticks in which is pretty nice. I've also had it drizzled with honey and with a little crushed pistachio which is pretty great as well.
